Car insurance costs are always changing — and today, the state just released a new survey comparing these costs in North Dakota.
Twenty auto insurance companies were invited to participate in the North Dakota Insurance Department’s annual survey.
As you know, insurance prices take a lot into account, including age, marital status, credit score, driving record, and more.
Some policies will only cost you a few hundred dollars; some more.
But the Property and Causalities director with the state’s Department of Insurance said the hot topic this year in North Dakota actually had to do with food delivery drivers.
They should also see if they have the coverage they need.
“We are seeing more of an increase in surveys that have gig drivers, whether they use them for additional work. So they deliver food for different restaurants and such so usually the coverage we have really covers passengers, not especially food delivered,” said Janelle Middlestead.
The state says if you struggle to pay for insurance, you may qualify for a state-defined risk auto insurance plan, regardless of your driving record.
